Office of Faith Formation

June 11 is the last day for religion classes and
the Confirmand – Rite of Sending.

RCIA- Rite of Christian Initiation & Adult Confirmation is a process that helps an individual become a member of the Roman Catholic Church, a process of inquiry, evangelization, prayer, and study leading to the reception of the Sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation.

If you know someone who falls into this category, please encourage them to sign up. You must contact Mrs. Daniel-Davis to register. If you have been baptized and want to complete your sacraments, this process is also for you. Call Mrs. Daniel-Davis with any questions @ 718-769-6311

Adult Confirmation classes are for anyone ages 18 and over. If under 18 years old you must enroll in a catch-up class in the Religious Education program.

Volunteers are needed to instruct the children in the religious education program.

Please contact the office of Faith Formation office @ 718-769-6311 or 347-574- 1828.

Tuesday was the Feast of Saint Mark. Our students recognized this special day by attending Mass as a school community. After Mass, we held a special ceremony outside with Father Bob to bless and rededicate our school building. The cornerstone of our school was set 100 years ago in 1923! So, we chose Tuesday–the Feast of Saint Mark–to recognize this very special occasion. As we told our students, they are part of Saint Mark history, and they make history each and every day they are in school!

Recently, we sent home an important notice regarding a change in how we will conduct parent-teacher conferences this year. We hope that this “adjustment” to our usual procedures will afford families and teachers a  more consistent and viable opportunity to work together in support of our students. Therefore, I ask that you please review this notice carefully.

Vocations Corner

The Brooklyn Diocese Vocations Office promotes vocations to priesthood and religious life throughout the diocese. It also serves men and women who are interested in discerning a vocation by means of retreats, discernment meetings, and providing information. The vocation director works individually with men discerning a vocation to diocesan priesthood, especially through the seminary application process. The Office also works with priests, religious, deacons, and laity to raise awareness about the need to work and pray for an increase in vocations, especially by working with Parish Vocation Committees.
